*. Place the battery in the right direction and make sure that the battery is tightly fit into the charger and the metal points.
*. Plug the "plug" in a wall outlet.
*. Connect the "plug" with the charger.
*. Light indications : red: charging; green: fully charged.
*. Unplug the "plug" carefully before taking out the battery .Repeat the same procedure when using the car adaptor .

*. Unplug the Canon bp-617battery charger from outlet before attempting any maintenance or cleaning.
*. New battery is sometimes hard to be charged. The Canon bp-608a battery charger may indicate red for about 10 to 15 minutes when a new battery pack is being charged for the first time. When this happens, remove the battery pack and let it cool down for awhile. Repeat the charging procedure again.
*. DO NOT disassemble the CANON bp-617 battery charger. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.
